Mission Statement

"Try a little harder to fortify someone so powerfully that whatever temptations the devils of hell throw at her or him, they will be able to withstand and thus truly in that moment be free from evil."

Look what a 4 year old can do...

So... on the day we left the Family Reunion (reunion post to come) Dad walks up to Mom and asks where his walkie talkies are. Mom remembers putting them on the table last night cause Nic needed her to hold Alex for a second. Mom then forgot about them. Okay, now imagine... there a bunch of kids around, creative minds, wandering minds, and grabby hands. Dad begins to freak out a little (okay, a little was an understatement) these are his hunting w.t's and he needs to use them this week while hunting with Chip. Situation = Dad freak out mode. He kind of gets mad at Mom for sitting them on the table. It takes a lot for Dad to get mad at Mom. Mom gets mad, goes out to look on the table and the surrounding areas. Everyone has left but Travis, Lacey, Bill, Nic/Dave, Joni/Kevin and us. We can't find them. We search the weeds, the campers, drill what kids are still there. Dad is thinking the worst. Someone has taken them. One of the kids has taken them to play and they are lost. It was drama for a while. Mom tells Dad she will buy him new ones, even if she has to sacrifice something to get them. Nic says NO. She will buy them, it was her fault for asking Mom to hold Alex right then. Well everyone has left at this point. We are sitting in the Expedition and Nic takes this opportunity to teach her kids about how Heavenly Father will help us if we need help, all we need to do is pray. SO...enter Keili. She offers up the prayer to find Grandpa's walkie talkies. It was cute. Then Nic says (this is my favorite part ) "okay, now everyone go out side and look for them. Listen to your heart, go where your heart tells you to go". CUTE! Dave walks up and goes "I sure hope you aren't shooting yourself in the foot with this one. I think someone packed them thinking they were theirs." Nic told him to have faith. Mom said the same thing. Dad was also skeptical thinking they were GONE FOREVER! SO... keili and Davey and I go out and start to walk around. Davey then tells me that he and Tayt took one on their walk. SO I make him take me where they went, thinking it wasn't far. YEAH RIGHT. We are treking around the lake. I finally told Davey that we needed to go back and have his Dad get on his bike and go look where they went. Then I hear this low yell. Nic is back at camp ( a long ways away) wondering where we went. She sees us in the distance so we start back. We were slow though, I had Davey, Keili, and Miley. Miley is 2. She's slow. We get close enough and I see Nic holding up something. It's the walkie talkies. Davey runs over and so does Keili. Keili was so excited, she ran up and gave them to Grandpa. It was cute. She was excited that her prayer worked. Nic kept having this feeling to go look in the camp trailer where they belong. She finally just did it . GUESS WHAT? They were where they belong. In the cupboard where they go. Dad had seen them on the table last night and picked them up, put them away. Grew Alzheimer's and forgot. Here is cute Keili with the walkie talkie's. Don't ever say a childs prayer doesn't work. Dave, Mom, and Dad were eating their words that day. Then Nic had them say a prayer to thank Heavenly Father for helping us. MOM OF THE YEAR AWARD GOES TO...(drum roll) NICOLE!!!!

  3. What a wonderful lesson for them. But, you know, it's not just children that it works for. Every time - and I mean EVERY time, even when I just drop my contact on the floor - I lose something I pray to find it and I do. God is amazing.
