This is for Misty
Misty has been wanting to see a picture of Alex, so here he is. Dave thinks he looks like a frog when he smiles like this. I think he looks like Dave, so take that for what you will.
Trip Down Memory Lane
First of all... our weekend started with a trip to the Scandinavian Festival. Being that our roots are Danish, it's always kind of fun to do that. It was quite rainy and I accidentally deleted the good picture of all the shops. There weren't as many "Scandinavian" Festivities this year, kind of disappointing, but still fun.
This is a picture of the Stage, there was this band playing (again I was delete happy) and I LOVED them. They were a bunch of old guys, but they sang some really good classic rock songs. It was fun. I actually knew and like them all.
Then on Monday, Nic, Dave, the kids, Mom and Dad and I went out to Tooele and Erda. We went to the Tooele Cemetery to see Grandma and Grandpa and put flowers on thier graves. I love this picture cause although some might think this dis respective, not our Grandparents. I'm sure they loved it.
Here they are, Dad's parents. Good old Juney bug and Kemo. I sure miss them. Notice (well maybe you can't see) but they got married when they were 17 years old. No wonder Grandpa acted the way he did and gave Grandma so much grief, he hadn't yet matured. I will never forget when I asked Grandpa how he proposed to Grandma he just said "I didn't! I was understood!" LOL! Totally Grandpa!
Here is Nic and her kiddos. They really liked the cemetery. Keili even asked Grandma where the doors were (she wanted to see where they were at, to get to where they were). CUTEY!!!

Okay, this is super cute. You know Grandpa, she loved pine cones and loved to collect the beautiful in nature and take them home, much to Grandpa's grief. Grandma always doubled up her fist and threatened Grandpa and got her way (my hero). Someone (we think Aunt Wendy) had put some pine cones in the dirt here for Grandma. Miley saw them and found a little baby sized one and is putting it the dirt. I thought, Man... Grandma must be so proud. Here's a little Grandma Juney in the making.
Dad thinking he's done. Miley protesting and wanting more. You'd think Dad would learn, you can't throw Mo in the air once and be done.
I put this one in because notice the pine cones lined up in front of the head stone. Davey, Keili and Miley left those for Grandma. CUTE, and a tear jerker. I have to tell you, I didn't add the picture but Keili kept seeing flowers on people graves that had tipped over. She went around and picked up all the flowers that were tipped over. Cute huh?
Okay, next we ventured out to Erda to the old house and neighborhood. It looked so different. A LOT smaller than I remember. Here is the east side of the house where our big swing set/clubhouse Dad built us WAS.
Our house is grey now. Wierd. And they took out the mound of flowers and trees in the front. There is a fence there (you can't really see), OH.. and the big pine tree on the east side of the house was chopped down (sad).
WHAT THE.... they took out most of the side grass. And there is a big rig barn in the way of the barns and horse arena. It's so weird and hard to see someone change what feels like you home. It's saddening to see. It almost feels like someone is wiping those memories away. It is crazy how many memories came flooding back this weekend. Things I had forgotten.
Next... look at Tooele High School. It is so different. They tore down our Tooele High and built this new and improved one. But still, the memories.... It is super nice though and a lot bigger. IT's just kind of heartbreaking to see things change. I hate that kind of change. GO BUFFS!!!
When we left we took the back way through Genola (which I fell in love with and wish there was a single farmer/rancher around my age that would marry me there) and came around the north west side of Santaquin to our house. It was so BEEE-YOOO-tiful! I loved it. This picture in no way shape or form does it justice. I will go on a bike ride out there and shoot some better pics so you can see why this is my dream place to live. This picture is a field of orchards.

Anyway... it was so much fun, and I loved the trip down memory lane, even though it was sad to see everything change, such is life. Life is about change and handing over the things of our pasts. I wish it was easier to do though. I sure love Tooele valley. Nic, Dave, and I all agreed that it feels like home when you drive into town. Nothing has ever felt like home like it does when I go out there. I love it so much!!!

What happens when Tahnee is bored?

Well, it's friday night, and Nic, Davey, Mo, Alex and I are sitting in the living room. So... Mo walks in with this flag and is spinning it around. Of course, because I'm bored my mind starts to think extra creatively. I think... hey, that's kind of funny. So... this is what transpired. THe funniest part was Mo kept trying to steal the flag before I got the picture taken. Davey got this bright idea to slide it down his pants, and MO... yanked the sucker out, in a quick motion which had to have scraped the crap out of Davey....LITERALLY. LOL! (Sorry if that's obscene, but it was too funny not to share). Nic and I were dying of laughter. Needless to say, after that I repositioned it in a more appropriate place.
Angels and Demons
Okay, so... not last night, BUT ... the night before that. I was peacefully attempting to fall asleep in my bed (okay, I may have been watching an episode of Roswell at the time too), when 2 little...Angel children came to Tahnee town for a visit. Namely: Keilers and Mosey Mo! Keili... in her "I'm so cute and sweet and irresistible" way of being said... "Can we watch your movie with you?" Now... picture her saying this with her little head tilted to the side, and a soft voice. I couldn't resist the cuteness. So I said yes and they climbed into bed with me. I thought it was so cute, our three heads on my pillow under the covers, so I grabbed my camera.
BIG MISTAKE.
What happened next...
was what I like to call The Attack of the Demon Children , and the following pictures display quite nicely why...
(it was like the flash of the camera zapped them igniting a tremendous jolt of energy and I was the bouncing board)

Okay... this one is the cutest Mo picture EVER!!! How could this be a demon child you ask? KEEP GOING...

This is Mo about to bounce herself right off my bed... all I could picture is broken something or other, so I attempt to grab her... successful of course (chock it up to those amazing biceps).

This picture, I thought would be so cute cause she climbed up on me, straddling my stomach. See that face? It's not nice, and it may look cute, but...

No... This is what transpired. She began jumping up and down, REPEATEDLY on my stomach. It was funny, but see her face? She is gritting her teeth TOGETHER. Why does one grit their teeth together while engaging in an act like this? NOT TO BE CUTE, I can promise you that...it's to attempt to bounce AS HARD AS YOU CAN, and as high as you can. Oh... and while I was focusing on the pain my stomach felt from repeated jolts (and a wet diaper), she head butted me... thus turning my focus from one pain to another. LOL!
They climbed under my covers, it was like a tornado happening.

I think I may have lost some hair that night, and suffered a few bruises. But... here is Keili...in all her glory. I'm pretty sure she knows how cute she is.

You can't see it yet... but this is Keili under attack... one second after this picture, I had one Keili knee in the face... it's like she's a freaking cat, and I'm her jungle gym. (notice the gritted teeth... see, under attack)

So I try to get them under the covers and realize... AFTER I LOOKED AT THIS PICTURE, that MO... was calling someone ( can you please look at how proud she is of herself-LOL)... I hurried and hung up.

It might look like I am trying to bite her... but... NO, she is trying to pry my teeth, gums and all, from my very mouth, with her thumb nail. LOL! I said "MO... those are real teeth man... they aren't glued in!"

The next thing out of my mouth was... "Okay... Tahn has to get some sleep, SOOOOOO... this party is O-VER!!!"
OH... and I should add... that I said that about 5 times before helping them off the bed.
Then... PEACE...
Okay, it was actually fun and kind of silly, but I really did get knee-d in the face, my teeth about pryed out of my mouth, about 4 attempts to see if my stomach could actually shoot out my body by repeated slams from Mo's behind, and I could go on and on... but I love the little rugrats. And okay, they aren't really Demon Children. They're stinkin' cute!!!

The tale of the Ho-er
So... let me tell you about my night. You see this thing? It's not cute, or pretty, or pleasant, even though kids think this sucker is a dang flower, it is NOT. It is a dandelion from L. It is not a flower. It is the by-product of the forbidden fruit. And if you don't believe me... Just wait...
Because this "pretty flower" will soon turn into this. And you see those things flying off? SEEDS!!! And you know what they do? They create more. These are like hamsters in the plant world. HAMSTERS!!! They multiply like it's going out of style. Like it's their last dang chance... like every blasted day is their last dang chance to multiply.
and now.. after I dug tons of them out of the grass last night, I thought... I bet people wanted to kill us... every time we picked one of these and blew it... thinking how cool it was... the neighbor was probably creating a voodoo doll with our name on it. I helped Dave and Nic last night by digging these out of the grass. And really, I didn't mind cause I like to do work at night cause I sit on my rump all day at work, but man... these things are a pain. And, the sad thing is... even though I got them all out, there are more birthing in the ground as we speak. SUCKERS!!! And, Nicole made fun of me last night cause my thumb was doing spasms after using the hoe on grass. I'm not very good at it. Dave said it looked like I'd been golfing on the lawn. Next time I might just do some golfing practice. I'll tell you, who needs a punching bag when you can dig dandelions out of the ground. It was like I had a personal vendetta against each and every one. When I first started I said to Dave "Where's the hoe, Hoe?" LOL!!! So of course then we proceeded into this banter calling each other a hoe for a few minutes. Once I started he came over to "inspect"... I said... "Hey...I'm I good Ho-er". And then I busted up laughing and bent over cause I couldn't stop, you know, thinking I was so funny and all. Get it? Ho-er is like saying Hore with an accent. Anyway... that was my night.
